The Global Information Security team, within the Global Information Security & Risk Group, drives the development, deployment and management of information and cyber security across the Computershare businesses, globally. Through partnerships with Business Units, Technology Services and other support functions, the Global Information Security team actively supports the business objectives whilst reducing the overall composite risk to Computershare.

Overview

The Security Monitoring Analyst performs complex information technology and cybersecurity analysis. Work involves monitoring information technology security activities to protect Computershare assets; delivering incident detection and incident response. The Security Monitoring Analyst is accountable for supporting the Team Lead of Security Monitoring through the delivery of a number of agreed services. He or She will assist in developing, deploying and supporting key security processes to reduce the level of risk to applications, servers and networks.

Skills and Experience

·Strong experience working in IT focusing on information security or IT Security.

·Willingness to learn new tools and processes.

·Organizational, time management, customer service and problem-solving skills.

·Ability to communicate with both security leaders and technical analysts in a timely and concise manner.

·Basic knowledge of tools used for network security (DLP, NIDS, HIDS, AV, Firewalls, etc)

·Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills a must.

·Experience in connecting disparate data elements in order to identify patterns of behavior in support of Intelligence reporting.

Responsibilities

·Actively monitor systems for anomalous behaviour.

·Appropriately and practically defend the enterprise in accordance with established policies, procedures, guidelines and practices.

·Improvement of overall functional services.

·Initiate change, identifying opportunities for improving the Information Security Operations service and managing the implementation of continuous improvement / new ideas and approaches.

·Understand and apply industry best practice and innovative thinking, and ensure implementation of solutions where appropriate to enhance and develop processes and best use of technology.

·Recognise and act pro-actively to exploit future opportunities or to avoid or mitigate future problems/ conflicts.

Educational Requirements

A university degree in computer science, telecommunications, networking, and engineering or another computer-related field, or have sufficient experience in Information Security or IT Security.

Certification Preferred

CISSP Certified Information Systems Security Professional or other relevant security qualifications

Personal Circumstances

Because this is a key position within a global team, the incumbent will occasionally be required to attend conference call meetings out of normal office hours. Some national and international travel will be required.
