Security Specialist – DLP/MS Windows/VMWare/Telecoms

Location: Trafford, Manchester

Gamma own and maintain a UK, geographically distributed, highly resilient network that delivers voice and data services for business users. Candidates must be fully conversant with security challenges that such an environment presents. Candidates will work with the Infrastructure, Commercial and Engineering teams to offer expertise and support across the business to maintain and enhance the security of our network and infrastructure.

You will be expected to be familiar with standards and best practice such as ISO27001, PCI-DSS, ITIL, and similar governance related to Cyber Security.

You should be numerate, literate and comfortable with presenting and reporting on complex issues in a concise and understandable fashion to peers, senior management and other stakeholders

Preference will be given to those candidates who can demonstrate previous experience in evaluating, deploying and managing DLP solutions in the ISP and/or, telecommunications (fixed or mobile) sectors.

Key Responsibilities

Work closely with our compliance and regulatory teams to ensure that that our sensitive data continues to be adequately protected and that security measures deployed are commensurate with the assessed risk.

Produce and analyse management reports related to DLP and ensure that related alerts are generated in a timely and effective manner.

Assist in the review of MS windows estate and virtual infrastructure to ensure that security measures and processes are adequate and fully comply with the requirement of ISO27001 and best practice guidelines. DLP experience is essential for this role.

Assess security risks arising from internal security incidents and ensure appropriate mitigation in place

Assess external security alerts from sources such as CERT, SANS and Government security agencies and evaluate risks to Gamma systems, networks and services.

Review internal security risk-registers and work with the security team to ensure that all platform and service owners are fully apprised of the risks within their area and understand the mitigation and associated processes.

Assist commercial teams in customer facing meetings, queries, proposals and projects related to security requirements and process

Required Skills

  • Demonstrable experience in building and maintaining secure network infrastructure for large scale data networks
  • Practical DLP experience is essential.
  • Cyber Security First Responder (CFR)
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) in the relevant areas.
  • Demonstrable experience of Microsoft system logging, auditing and reporting
  • Extensive experience with Microsoft products: Exchange, Sharepoint, AD, Lync, IIS, SQL etc.
  • VMWare experience, configuration and management
  • AirWatch configuration
  • Firewall, IDS/IPS, secure protocols and techniques
  • DDOS protection technologies and traffic management, e.g. Corero, Fortinet, A10, Procera
  • TCP/IP, and related protocols and services, e.g. SNMP, SMTP, ICMP
  • Secure comms technologies and encryption tools, PKI, HTTPS, SSL/TLS, SFTP, IPSec etc.
  • SIEM tools for analysis and reporting

Desirable Skills

  • Relevant industry or vendor security qualifications, e.g. CISSP, CISM, CCNP/CCNA etc
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure
  • Degree level qualification in a related engineering discipline
  • Network topologies and systems, VPN, MPLS, VPLS, BGP, IPsec
  • Cisco and Juniper systems
  • VOIP/Mobile platforms and services
