This role sits within our Financial & Risk (“F&R”) business. On January 30, 2018, Thomson Reuters announced that it signed a definitive agreement to enter into a strategic partnership with private equity funds managed by Blackstone related to the company’s F&R business. As part of the transaction, Thomson Reuters has agreed to sell a 55% majority stake in Financial & Risk and will retain a 45% interest in the business. Thomson Reuters will maintain full ownership of its Legal, Tax & Accounting and the Reuters News businesses. The transaction is expected to close in the second half of the year and is subject to specified regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions. When the transaction closes, this role will be included in the new F&R entity. Thomson Reuter’s Information Security & Risk Management (ISRM) team is looking for an experienced individual to support effective risk management across the Technology landscape of Thomson Reuters. The role will be responsible for the successful completion of risk assessment program, ensuring risks are completely and effectively assessed, mitigations identified, and reporting completed as part of fulfilling both regulatory and customer requirements.
The ideal candidate will possess the right demeanor, skillset and experience to operate in the fast-paced and dynamic world of information security and risk, with experience delivering to defined timelines across a large organisation, as well as managing queries, agreeing acceptable mitigations
This role requires a strategic thinker with experience delivering global initiatives or programs in matrix business structures. The role holder will be able to collaborate, influence and/or lead efforts as required.
Execute on all the day-to-day information security risk management process including assessment and reporting (.
Oversee the assessment of new and existing risk statements in partnership with Risk Owners
Identify and gather key risk indicators to quantify the measurement of risks and associated mitigations
Review and assess new risks for applicability and suitability
Partner in the identification and designing of mitigations as driven by the respective risk profile with key stakeholders including Risk Owners
Develop and deliver reporting aligned to operational processes using different solutions including MS PowerPoint
Develop training materials for different layers of the organization including training sessions as required
Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders to improve risk awareness and compliance as a subject matter expert
Deliver additional activities as defined by senior leadership.
Bachelors degree in an IT discipline or equivalent experience.
Substantial experience in risk management, compliance, or audit in a financial services, Big 6 or internet driven environment.
CISA or CRISC certified
Understanding of risk management principles and frameworks as they relate to technology
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Awareness of industry trends and developments
Ability to travel upto 6 weeks per annum
Strong team player with ability to execute in a matrix structure, across time zone and national boundaries
Experience of usage of GRC tools & solutions
Must have unrestricted authorization to work in the United Kingdom
Must submit to a background investigation, including verification of past employment, criminal history and educational background
Good business acumen with a successful track record in aligning to business drivers
Experience of managing GRC tools and solutions
