A new opportunity has arisen for an IT Security Analyst to join the IT Security Team. Working within the team this role will provide administrative support to the IT Security function to embed the Society’s IT Security Control Framework in accordance with both industry good practice and regulatory expectations and internal Policies.

As an IT Security Analyst you will support the programme of Security work. A significant part of the role will be to assist in the administration of running the IT Due Diligence function, to ensure that Third Party IT Security controls are effectively operated to protect sensitive customer or staff data held by authorised Third Parties.

The role requires you to analyse and interpret information, reports, certificates and Policies taken from a variety of sources and aid the Society Business Relationship Managers and the IT Security team to support, advise and challenge the IT Security controls required for Third Party IT Due Diligence.

This role requires an ability to think analytically so that you can contribute to the on-going development of the IT Security Risk Control framework. An attention to detail is essential.

The role holder will have a broad IT technical understanding and an awareness of information security best practices. They will also have good communication skills and the ability to think independently, engage, influence and work in partnership with a range of stakeholders.

A detailed information and IT security understanding is not required, and this would be an ideal platform for someone new to IT and IT Security to develop their skills in this area.

Key responsibilities:

  • Maintain the IT Due Diligence schedule and records
  • Carry out key IT Security Due Diligence administration activities in conjunction with the IT
  • Security Monitoring team and Society’s internal Third Party Business Relationship Managers
  • Liaising directly with external Third Party Business Relationship Managers where required and providing effective feedback to internal Third Party Business Relationship
  • Managers regarding effectiveness of controls and the identification of risks.
  • To maintain and regularly review the IT Due Diligence Dispensation schedule, and liaise with the Business Relationship Managers and Operational and Conduct Risk as needed to ensure IT Due Diligence Dispensations are completed within agreed timescales, which may require prioritising requests as appropriate to business needs.
  • Schedule and co-ordinate meetings, appointments and travel arrangements for IT Due Diligence site visits
  • Assist with producing monthly IT Due Diligence status reports
  • Assist with producing monthly Information Risk Management Information (MI) reports
  • Providing any other IT Systems Access Control teams Access Administration tasks as required.
  • General clerical duties
  • Other duties as assigned by the IT Security Manager.

Skills & Attributes

  • Excellent analytical and numerical skills
  • High degree of computer literacy
  • High standard of verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management, organisation and prioritisation skills with the ability to respond positively whilst working within a pressurised environment
  • Experience of data analysis and/or risk administration would be a distinct advantage
  • Accuracy as any administrative error could result in drastic consequences.
